Sewing Sister's Sydney Social Stay

Hey all, the gorgeous Lynnelle (L from You Sew Girl) is coming down under and we are getting together in Sydney on Sunday 18th May..

Lynnelle is currently hosting a trench sew-a-long on her blog and I am really excited to be able to meet her (not that I am participating in the sew along - trenches are out of my league at the moment).

Remember the magnificent coat that Lynnelle made.

If you would like to get together with us on the 18th please let me know. Haven't got a place yet but will let you know when I know possible numbers. Any suggestions?

Also, any great ideas on what Lynnelle can do in Sydney? I have put forth the following suggestions..

Climbing the Sydney harbour bridge
Visit the Opera House
Powerhouse Museum
Sydney Zoo
Sydney Aquarium
The Rocks (first settlement of Sydney)

There lunch cruises too on Sydney Harbour

Would love to get a group of sewing sisters together.

  2. Oooh, you can count me in! I'd happily do anything but the harbour bridge climb (I've already done it and it's fairly spendy)

  3. Sounds great! I've put the date in my diary and hope to be able to join you on the 18th. I'll need to confirm closer to the time, so hope that's ok :)

Aside from fabric shops (of course) how about the botanical gardens (one of my favourite places), Autumn in the Blue Mountains would be lovely too as a day trip.

    1. Anything else you can think of let me know and I will pass on to Lynnelle - although I know you are in contact too so maybe you can forward your thoughts to her.

  5. You can't forget catching the Manly ferry and having a nice cream on Manly beach (much better than Bondi I think!). I'd love to join you guys too, but can't plan that far ahead!

  8. Suggestion of something to do in Sydney for Lynnelle... Buy stretch bengaline (which we can't get in the States). Use the money you saved by opting not to visit the fashion district in LA. ;)

  9. Count me in as well. Love the bengaline idea and you have been given some other great options as well.

  10. I'd love to come BeaJay but am busy on that weekend. Lynn and I will be meeting the following weekend. I agree, Sydney Harbour cruise is a good idea, as is ferry to Manly with ice cream on the beach. Do enjoy yourselves - love to meet you all as well.

  12. Hi, I don't often comment, but like to keep up with your sewing adventures. Just a thought for Lynelle ... her visit coincides with Vivid Sydney, so perhaps an evening harbour cruise to view the lights.
