At least now you have a basis to go on - shame you had to ruin a shirt to get it though.tigergirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09229270869667028807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-70021503209728792502012-08-14T08:51:31.272+10:002012-08-14T08:51:31.272+10:00Great points MrsCGreat points MrsCBeaJayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14071033898844018967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-61291119088359514462012-08-13T17:17:53.747+10:002012-08-13T17:17:53.747+10:00Thanks Carolyn, I follow Shams and will check it o...Thanks Carolyn, I follow Shams and will check it out.BeaJayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14071033898844018967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-86985980235465446702012-08-13T15:48:15.073+10:002012-08-13T15:48:15.073+10:00I think you've hit on a really good solution! ...I think you've hit on a really good solution! <br />btw shams, of Communing with Fabric, has absolutely terrific tips for FBA on her blog, very clearly explained and well worth checking out :)Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03156106727490224625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-53351410817666903192012-08-13T15:47:07.397+10:002012-08-13T15:47:07.397+10:00Great idea!!!Great idea!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08540972928814756875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-58907519574850193702012-08-13T08:14:54.988+10:002012-08-13T08:14:54.988+10:00I used Palmer / Pletch DVD - Full Busted - when I ...I used Palmer / Pletch DVD - Full Busted - when I did my red dress. I need DVDs as I cant' seem to translate pictures into reality - I need to see it done. It is a great DVD and I highly recommend it.BeaJayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14071033898844018967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-69978308847670713392012-08-13T06:58:08.556+10:002012-08-13T06:58:08.556+10:00You have done exactly the right thing! Remember my...You have done exactly the right thing! Remember my recent rant about fitting instead of pattern making? Perfect example. Your sloper is a brilliant idea. Just watch the relative stretchiness of fabrics chosen compared to the one you cut up. I made that mistake once - used a very stretchy top as a pattern for a not so stretchy fabric and the resulting top fits me like a compression stocking hehehe.MrsC (Maryanne)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14440723067459232998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-54243941054809310022012-08-13T04:32:51.352+10:002012-08-13T04:32:51.352+10:00I've had a week of fit issues- I need FBA guid...I've had a week of fit issues- I need FBA guidance, I do so many boxy garments, I need to step up my fitting.prttynpnkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16513331416653286924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-11213044011964174912012-08-12T20:21:12.077+10:002012-08-12T20:21:12.077+10:00Great idea! Fit is definately the hardest thing to get right (though I do think as sewists we do tend to be a bit too hard on ourselves) and being able to compare a new pattern to a TNT or sloper pattern helps so much!Suzyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02665152222823096026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661816713425562304.post-26102907520164475462012-08-12T19:03:29.745+10:002012-08-12T19:03:29.745+10:00Fitting is an issue for most of us I think. If you...Fitting is an issue for most of us I think. If you have a generous bust (and I do) it seems to change everything. What an amazing comparison and the pattern is for your high bust measurement as well. Look at the differences around the shoulders and armholes. No wonder we struggle with fit. I think you are on the right track, just a matter of working out just what your size is around your shoulders/arms/neck and you should have a better starting point. I think! Will be following closely to see how you get on. Good luck.Pam from South Australiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09325502462504851255noreply@blogger.com
